Although Half-Life is by far the most well-known appearance of this tool, the Crowbar from Half-Life (”Crow” to his friends), has had a long and varied career in entertainment. Crow was wielded by a gang of toughs in The Outsiders. He can be seen hanging in the background of the garage during the Greased Lightning song from Grease. And he was the murder weapon in one of several endings of the movie Clue. More recently, Crow has been working with Valve Software on sequels to Half-Life after a long hiatus and semi-retirement. The success of Half-Life 2 led to a slew of cameos in films like World Trade Center, Panic Room and 2 Fast 2 Furious. Despite the recognition brought on by the Half-Life games, Crow’s prickly manner on-set and his notorious drinking problems have always kept leading roles and fame at bay, which is a shame because he is widely considered to be the most talented crowbar of his generation.
