“Dig-Doug”

Dig Dug

Incorrect in several respects, this is the name that people sometimes use to refer to the protagonist of the videogame Dig-Dug in an effort to sound clever. The name is actually Taizo Hori.

After a few drinks, however, Hori doesn’t mind being called “Dug-E-Fresh.” Or at least he didn’t before he was killed in an excavation during the 1985 Mexico City earthquake.
