Excitebike, Memos Leading to the Idea for

January, 1982
Dear Mr. Arakawa,
After our recent trip to America, the team has a very exciting idea for a video game! We found a new and popular sport called Motocross racing. We believe that we can take this sport and make it into a videogame in which the player collects very sad motobikes, buries them in gardens and makes motobike wheels grow from the ground and into happy wheels! We would call it Morosebike! We think this could be a great success. Please advise.

Dear Mr. Arakawa,
The team hopes you will accept our apologies for upsetting you so with our last memorandum. We regret the trouble our idea has caused, but we hope to make it up to you with a new idea that we believe is far superior to the previously discussed videogame idea, which will never be brought up again. In our time in America we observed that Americans are obsessed with sexuality and are very open to new and strange forms of erotic stimulation. We propose taking the very popular sport of Motocross racing and allowing players to “Date” other vehicles and to copulate on a variety of race tracks, including soft dirt mounds and ice tracks. The game would be called Arousebike. Please advise.

Dear Mr. Arakawa,
While waiting for a response to our idea of Arousebike, we were very saddened to hear about your sudden heart attack. We wish you a speedy recovery and were sorry to hear that your assistant has requested we stop all work on the game until you are well enough to examine the idea more fully. In the meantime, we have been brainstorming another game that we feel might be a great fortune for Nintendo. We would like to take the sport of Motocross racing, which is very popular in America, and combine it with cooking. Players would drive their motobikes to ingredient stores and then drive back food to their homes where they would prepare savory meals for their families. The player who creates the most delicious recipe in the shortest time would win. We would, with your blessing, like to begin immediately on Enticebike. Please advise when you are feeling better.

I would play ANY of those.
