Flaming Dragon Punch

Do not try this at home.

The release of the first version of Street Fighter II was almost delayed from its 1991 arcade release in North America when it was discovered that Ken’s signature “Shoryuken” Flaming Dragon Punch move was also the name of a little-known, but extremely disgusting sexual maneuver.

The PR team responsible for launching the game reacted in horror when an anonymous letter informed them that “Flaming Dragon Punch” was a technique employed at an underground massage parlor in Washington D.C. involving a tin of lighter fluid, a spiked leather glove and three ripe oranges.

The Capcom executives in Japan made the difficult decision of keeping the game’s release on schedule, though it was later discovered that the purported Washington D.C. massage parlor burned down, presumably after someone inside employed the Flaming Dragon Punch. There were no surivors and the “Move” is assumed to have died along with its practitioners.
