Liu Ping, Post-Match Note From

Dear worthy opponent,
Though my countenance betrayed my words, please believe me when I say it was a pleasure to compete against you. Perhaps I scowl; perhaps my features remain immobile, set as they are upon your destruction while we are playing Ping-Pong. Inside, I am a puppy playing with a squeak toy, a bunny set upon a fresh carrot. In my heart, rainbows bleed musical notes and I want to cry out my joy to the world, to say, “I am alive, world, and my paddle is the instrument by which I express this miraculous journey!”
I also want to tell you that I love you, in the way of brothers and sisters on this Earth. I love you, friend. Our match was fine, and you inspired greatness in me.
When I frowned at you, I was really carrying us both heavenward.
It was my pleasure to meet you and to crush you. Please stay in touch, wonderful soul.
Eternally in your debt,
Liu Ping
