The Kilrathi, the evil feline space race and villains of the Wing Commander series, were so diabolically clever that they foresaw their eventual defeat the hands of a brave squadron of human pilots. Much like fantasy Hitler, the Kilrathi devised a plan to go back in time and infiltrate human culture at a time before technology would bring the humans and Kilrathi into conflict in space. They brought a primitive ancient form of Kilrathi communication, the “lolcat” dialect paired with cute or amusing imagery and began to post it on an early human form of computer-based messaging called the Internet.

The “lolKilrathi” experiment was successful. Humans came to see all manner of felines as harmless, thus paving the way for the Kilrathi to easily enslave the homo sapiens when the time came.
