MotorStorm

MotorStorm

Sony’s flagship racing game for its PlayStation 3 system, MotorStorm, was a buggy, largely unfinished game when it was released. It only kept gamers’ attention when it was eventually included as a pack-in game on some PS3 bundles and after updates and additions that continue to this day.

Though it was not a huge commercial success, MotorStorm was hailed for its high-definition contributions to the color brown, which it features prominently on nearly every mud-stained surface of the game. The game won the American Sepia Society’s 2007 award for Outstanding Use of Brown, Sepia, Burnt Sienna or Chocolate in Interactive Entertainment.

The team behind the game’s color palette has since moved on to Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune and the color green.
