NFL Blitz, Increasingly Worrisome Non-Football Game Elements Of

When it was introduced to arcade in 1997, NFL Blitz did for football what NBA Jam did for basketball. It distilled the sport into an exciting fast-paced no-holds barred version of itself. Yearly updates improved upon the graphics and options and fine-tuned the frantic gameplay. Then with the Blitz: The League release the game took a questionable turn and added off-field and player lifestyle elements into the mix.
Here’s what’s on the drawing board for future releases in the Blitz franchise:
Blitz: The League 2
New features include real-world arenas, custom logos, fur colour options and real-world collar design licensing for in-game dog fights.
Blitz: The Most Dangerous Game
The marquee feature of this release is the Burnout-like rival system. Crushing in-game tackles and touchdown showboating create rivalries which can be settled after the game by kidnapping your nemesis and hunting him at your leisure in your pimped out safari range.
Blitz: Let’s Do Drugs
All the football games are simulated in this release. Players skip right to a collection of mini-games featuring hardcore drug use. Also there’s some human trafficking in there somewhere.
Blitz: Gnostic Rush
Join other Blitz players online to discuss whether to path to God is to be found within oneself. Football elements return to Blitz in this installment but each play is followed by 30 minutes of theological discussion.
Blitz: Murdertime
Choose from officially over 100 licensed home, away and legacy football jerseys, form a gang and murder people. You can keep track of NFL scores via an integrated online feed.
Blitz: Ivory Hunter
Travel to the heart of Africa, evade park rangers and environmentalist and harvest the tusks of the majestic elephant with your bare hands for your blinged out virtual crib.
