Quaternary Fire

Quaternary Fire is generally used to refer to the fourth firing mode for weapons in first person shooters (FPSs). Gamers are forever demanding more weapon selection options in their games and in response developers have moved from single-mode weapons to those with secondary modes, tertiary modes and now quaternary modes. With up to ten weapons in FPSs each with four modes sometimes developers are hard-pressed to provide a consistent experience. Some recent weapons with quaternary fire have included:
