Venture, Best 6-Year Old Joke Inspired By

Venture

Venture was by most accounts an excellent port of the arcade game for the ColecoVision. Part adventure game, part Berserk-style shooter, Venture had a just-one-more-room appeal that kept you playing much longer than you planned.

The game saw you — a circle with a face and bow and arrow — exploring rooms of a vast dungeon. Each room was named after the creatures that lived there. Goblin Room was full of goblins. The Skeleton Room was full of skeletons and as fate would have it snakes all gathered in the Snake Room.

If you were a 6-year old boy you were bound by the code of juvenile activity to find the Bat Room (full of bats you see) stand still and shoot your yellow arrows as fast as you can and turn to your friend and proclaim “Excuse me, I really had to go to the bat room.”
